The NFL revealed that Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels and New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers, who are former LSU teammates, pulled back a $10,000 bet on who would win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award following "multiple education training sessions" on the league's gambling policy.

Nabers previously confirmed that the bet was called off in May, but as Mark Maske of the Washington Post noted, Thursday marked the first time the league offered public remarks on the case.

"They rescinded that bet," NFL executive vice president of communications, public affairs and policy Jeff Miller said in a video news conference, per Maske.

"The league addressed the matter directly with the NFL Players Association, with the two teams and with the two players to ensure that they understood the policy. They received multiple education training sessions since that time. And...as a result of all the work that went into it, I think we're comfortable with the resolution."

ESPN's John Keim reported details on the initial bet back in May.

"Daniels and Nabers have a bet on who will win the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, which Nabers first mentioned on "The Pivot" podcast with Ryan Clark. Daniels confirmed the wager during an interview on the "All Facts No Brakes" podcast with Keyshawn Johnson on Wednesday."

As Maske noted, the NFL is now mandating in-person training for all players on the gambling policy, so Daniels and Nabers certainly aren't the only ones undergoing training sessions. Per Maske, representatives from the league visited all 32 teams at offseason minicamps and training camps to conduct the sessions.

In addition, coaches, team and NFL staffers, referees and game officials go through the training.

Ultimately, Daniels and Nabers won't go through on this bet, but they certainly have great potential and could easily vie for the Offensive Rookie of the Year award regardless.

The electric Daniels, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, is QB1 in Washington and could give the Commanders a much-needed jolt. Nabers, who looks like WR1 in New York, has been enjoying a great offseason and impressed during preseason action against the Houston Texans.

Both players begin their regular seasons on Sept. 8. Daniels and the Commanders visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while the Giants welcome the Minnesota Vikings.
