Olympic 2024 Medal Count: Final Tally, Winners from Day 14 Early Events

Joe Tansey

The United States' gold-medal battle with China at the 2024 Summer Olympics keeps swinging back-and-forth between the two countries.

Team USA moved in front of China at the end of Day 13 in Paris thanks to some incredible wins in the track and field events.

China wasted no time taking back the lead in gold medals early on Day 14.

China continued its domination in diving and added another gold in canoe/kayak.

Team USA has an opportunity to counter back on the track once again on Friday night in the relay events, but for now, it sits at a slight deficit to China in the gold medal race.

The United States will take first place in the overall medal table. No Americans won medals on Friday morning, but the total of 103 medals is expected to grow on Friday afternoon.

The gold medal standings changed hands once again on Friday morning.

China reclaimed its slender margin over the United States with first-place finishes in diving and canoe/kayak.

The Chinese have been as dominant in diving as Team USA has been in the track and field events.

China is now seven-for-seven in the diving events after Chen Yiwen took gold in the women's 3m springboard.

That was the 31st gold medal for China in Paris. The 30th came in the women's canoe double 500-meter race. China quickly added a 32nd gold medal in men's team table tennis.

Team USA has two big opportunities on the track in the 4x100 meter relays to at least tie China on top of the gold medal table by the end of Friday.
