Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes Joins 99 Club in Madden NFL 25 Player Ratings; Ties Tom Brady

Paul Kasabian

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been announced as the fifth and final member of the 99 Club for Madden NFL 25, joining teammate and tight end Travis Kelce, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill and a pair of San Francisco 49ers in running back Christian McCaffrey and left tackle Trent Williams.

This is the fourth time Mahomes has been given a 99 overall rating, tying him with seven-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Tom Brady and three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt. Mahomes also made the 99 Club in Madden NFL 21, 22 and 24.

Mahomes, a two-time NFL MVP, just won his third Super Bowl in five years. The three-time Super Bowl MVP is a six-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro who has thrown for 219 touchdowns and 28,140 yards over his six full seasons as the Chiefs' No. 1 quarterback.

It wouldn't be a surprise to see Mahomes hold the 99 Club record by himself someday. For now, ex-Los Angeles Rams superstar and eight-time First Team All-Pro defensive lineman Aaron Donald has received the most 99 overall ratings all time with seven. He's followed by a pair of Pro Football Hall of Famers in quarterback Peyton Manning (six) and Ray Lewis (five).

Madden NFL 25 will be released on Friday, Aug. 16.
