Madden 25 Player Ratings: Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson and Top 10 QBs

Tyler Conway

Two straight Super Bowl MVPs were understandably more than enough for Patrick Mahomes to reach the Madden 99 Club.

Now we're getting a look at how he compares to the rest of the NFL, according to EA Sports. The video game giant released the top 10 quarterbacks for the initial release of Madden 25, with Mahomes coming out as the best player at the position.

Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow and Josh Allen are also among the best in the game. Here is a look at how the entire top 10 played out:

  1. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs (99 OVR)
  2. Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens (98 OVR)
  3. Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals (93 OVR)
  4. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills (92 OVR)
  5. Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys (90 OVR)
  6. Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins (88 OVR)
  7. Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers (87 OVR)
  8. Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles (86 OVR)
  9. Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers (85 OVR)
  10. Kirk Cousins, Atlanta Falcons (84 OVR)

EA Sports also provided the full ratings for every quarterback in the game. Aaron Rodgers, Matthew Stafford, Jared Goff, CJ Stroud and Jordan Love round out the top 15.

Mahomes is coming off the worst statistical season of his career but arguably his finest in propping up the talent around him. He threw for 4,183 yards and 27 touchdowns against 14 interceptions despite dealing with one of the NFL's worst wide receiver rooms.

Jackson won his second NFL MVP in 2023 after the most complete passing season of his career. He threw for 3,678 yards and 24 touchdowns against seven interceptions, completing 67.2 percent of his passes and averaging 8.0 yards per attempt. Add in another 821 yards on the ground, and Jackson has arguably reached the peak of his overall powers at age 27.

Burrow is coming off an injury-plagued 2023 campaign that saw him struggle with a calf strain before tearing a wrist ligament. He played in just 10 games and wasn't 100 percent for any of them. The Bengals are hopeful Burrow and his Slim Shady-esque new hairdo will bounce back in 2024.

Allen once again alternated between brilliant and maddening during the 2023 season. He compiled 44 total touchdowns (29 passing, 15 rushing) while completing 66.5 percent of his passes, the second-best mark of his career. Allen also threw a career-worst 18 interceptions and was throttled as a passer during the Bills' Divisional Round loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
