USA Olympic Men's Soccer Team 2024: Roster, Starting XI, Top Subs and Jerseys

Joe Tansey

The United States men's soccer team is back at the Summer Olympics for the first time since 2008.

The squad for the 2024 Summer Olympics is full of players who could potentially be a part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup roster.

The Olympic men's soccer tournament is an under-23 event with three overage players allowed on the roster.

The Americans decided to use the three overage slots on center backs Walker Zimmerman and Miles Robinson and attacker Djordje Mihailovic, all of whom have major-tournament experience with the senior national team.

Expectations are not as high for the men's soccer as they are for other American teams in Paris.

The primary goal is to get out of the group stage and set up a potential quarterfinal with Argentina.

The men's soccer schedule and full complement of jerseys can be found on USSoccer.com.

Patrick Schulte, Caleb Wiley, Miles Robinson, Walker Zimmerman, John Tolkin, Jack McGlynn, Tanner Tessmann, Gianluca Busio, Paxten Aaronson, Duncan McGuire, Djordje Mihailovic

Robinson and Zimmerman will provide experience in the middle of defense on the Olympic roster.

The young star of the back line is Caleb Wiley, who recently completed an eight-figure transfer from Atlanta United to Chelsea.

Midfielder Tanner Tessmann has been the topic of transfer speculation in Italy after his game grew with Venezia across both Serie A and Serie B.

Tessmann and his fellow central midfielder Jack McGlynn could both be on the move this summer if they play well in Paris. McGlynn, who plays for Philadelphia in MLS, is known for his strong left foot and will be an asset on set pieces for the U.S.

Forward Duncan McGuire almost moved overseas last year, but a transfer to Blackburn Rovers in the English Championship fell apart in the dying moments of the transfer window.

McGuire, who has 20 MLS goals in two seasons with Orlando City, will be the team's target man at striker.

Mihailovic will support McGuire in the attacking third. He has three goals in 11 appearances for the senior national team.

Kevin Paredes, Taylor Booth, Benjamin Cremaschi

Olympic rosters do not allow you to have too much depth since they possess 18 players.

The United States' biggest difference-makers off the bench will be in attack, led by Wolfsburg's Kevin Paredes.

Paredes made an impact both as a starter and sub in the Bundesliga last season and he will challenge for starting minutes in the group stage.

The Olympic group stage takes place over a six-day span, so the Americans will call on the depth they have to remain fresh against France, Guinea and New Zealand.

Taylor Booth is one of the primary goal-scorers off the bench. The same could be said about Benjamin Cremaschi

Cremaschi, who plays for Inter Miami in MLS, has the potential to be a breakout star for the U.S. at the Olympics at only 19.

Group A Schedule

Wednesday, July 24: United States vs. France

Saturday, July 27: New Zealand vs. United States

Tuesday, July 30: United States vs. Guinea

The United States is expected to finish second in Group A behind host France.

A second-place finish likely sets up a quarterfinal showdown with Argentina, who along with France and Spain should be considered the medal favorites.

First place in the group stage, or a run past the quarterfinals, would be viewed as a surprise achievement for the under-23 squad.
