WWE Rumors: Bobby Lashley's Contract Expires Soon; Star Removed from Internal Roster

Joseph Zucker

Bobby Lashley's contract with WWE is expiring soon, according to Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp.

The two-time WWE champion has been reportedly removed from the company's internal roster as well. Fightful Select provided more details:

Bobby Lashley's WWE contract is up within the next month or so, possibly over the course of weeks. PWN learned that Lashley was removed from the internal roster page, though he is still featured on the company's website, and Fightful was also able to confirm that news.
Lashley has been out of action for a number of months, and sources have told us that he plans on continuing wrestling if for some reason an extension is not reached with WWE. Lashley has not been factored into WWE creative plans since the spring.

Lashley hasn't wrestled a televised match since he lost a Triple Threat match on the April 12 edition of SmackDown. Days earlier, he teamed with the Street Profits to beat The Final Testament at WrestleMania XL.

The 48-year-old was set to take part in the King of the Ring tournament but had to withdraw due to an undisclosed injury.

Lashley's exit wouldn't come as a total shock, even though his most recent WWE title run came in early 2022 and made the semifinals of the tournament to crown the holder of the new World Heavyweight Championship in 2023.

His forward momentum since then has totally stalled out, evidenced by his lengthy absence from WWE programming.

Leaving the promotion would allow Lashley to get a fresh start elsewhere. Beyond potentially getting positioned as a main event-type star again, having a new set of opponents would do wonders in terms of giving him a different on-screen presence.

Assuming he wants to keep wrestling, The All Mighty should have no trouble landing on his feet in another company.
