Video: Conor McGregor Calls Jake Paul 'a Little Dweeb of a Thing' Before Perry Fight

UFC star Conor McGregor took a shot at Jake Paul while hyping up one of the fighters in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships, the promotion he co-owns.

Mike Perry, who's 5-0 in BKFC, is scheduled to fight Paul on Saturday. At the press conference to hype up the event, McGregor said that Perry has "had such a rise in the sport" and added he's now "up against a little dweeb of a thing" in reference to Paul.

McGregor and Paul don't exactly have a heated rivalry, but stars with such large personalities are bound to exchange words from time to time. As far back as 2020, Paul was challenging the former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion. Since then, the pair has reveled in mocking one another when the chance presents itself.

Now, McGregor effectively has a proxy going up against the popular YouTuber-turned-boxer.

Paul was originally scheduled to oppose boxing legend Mike Tyson this month until an ulcer forced Tyson to bow out. They've since lined up a new date (Nov. 15) for their clash.

Iron Mike's withdrawal opened a door for Perry, who accepted the opportunity with a little more than a month's notice.

The 32-year-old specialized in mixed martial arts and made his UFC debut in 2016. He compiled a 14-8 record before pivoting to a slightly new career and signing with BKFC in 2021. Since then he has built a name for himself, capturing the promotion's symbolic "King of Violence" title with his second-round stoppage win over Eddie Alvarez last December.

Based on McGregor's comments, Perry will be carrying the banner for BKFC when he steps in the ring against Paul in Tampa, Florida.
