Updated Rankings For WWE Star to Dethrone Cody Rhodes as Undisputed Champion

Donald Wood

Former AEW star and current Undisputed WWE Champion—recognized as both the WWE Champion and WWE Universal Champion—Cody Rhodes is one of the hottest commodities in all of professional wrestling.

As with any face champion, though, the WWE Universe has already shifted its attention to which performer will receive the honor of dethroning Rhodes and taking his championships.

With Rhodes firmly involved in a long-term storyline against The Bloodline, it makes sense that all the natural challengers aiming for his gold are members of the powerful stable, including Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa.

Here are the updated rankings for which Superstar eventually steals the titles from Rhodes.

1. The Rock

The Superstar most likely to beat Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship is The Rock.

While all signs point to Sikoa getting a shot at the champion at SummerSlam, the new Tribal Chief winning would hurt this long-term storytelling. At the end of the day, the biggest possible angle is a battle for power within the stable between The Rock and Reigns.

To get to Rock vs. Reigns at WrestleMania 41, Johnson needs to beat Rhodes for the championship at the 2025 Royal Rumble. As a result, Sikoa should lose his match against the champion at SummerSlam, and the Bloodline should begin imploding, culminating in a War Games match pitting Solo and his group against Reigns and his version of the stable.

Once Reigns reclaims his spot as the Head of the Table, The Rock should make a surprise return and bypass Reigns in his quest to win the Undisputed WWE Championship. When Johnson beats Rhodes at Royal Rumble, the stage will be set for Johnson vs. Reigns at WrestleMania, which was the plan originally last year.

2. Roman Reigns

If The Rock is beating Rhodes for the title, then it should be Reigns who takes back his championship in a singles match against the current titleholder in Las Vegas. The bout between Rock and Reigns can take place at Royal Rumble without the title on the line.

In this storyline, Sikoa will still have a shot at Rhodes at SummerSlam, but Reigns will return to screw the Bloodline over. With the champion moving on to another storyline, Reigns would shift his focus to Sikoa and his version of the Bloodline and take back his throne.

Reigns will even the odds with The Usos and an updated version of his stable, ultimately resulting in a War Games match for the right to call themselves the Bloodline. In that bout, The Rock should return and attempt to screw over Reigns, setting up the Royal Rumble singles match.

Once Reigns disposes of Johnson, it's on to WrestleMania 41, where the former champion will regain the Undisputed WWE Championship from Rhodes.

3. Solo Sikoa

The previous long-term storytelling in the Bloodline program leads most members of the WWE Universe to believe Rodes will not lose the title anytime soon. If WWE Creative is looking to shock the world, though, Sikoa should win the championship at SummerSlam.

Sikoa has thrived in his role as the new Head of the Table for the Bloodline, and the stable of Superstars around him has been booked incredibly strong, including a pinfall victory over Rhodes at Money in the Bank.

If WWE wants to build Sikoa as a legit threat, there is no better way than to let him walk out of SummerSlam with the Undisputed WWE Championship. Reigns will return as a beloved babyface, so showing up to stop Sikoa and take back his championship would be perfect storytelling.

After Reigns' faction faces off against Sikoa's at WarGames, the former champion can win back his title at Royal Rumble. From there, Triple H and company could bring The Rock back and book him as Reigns' challenger at WrestleMania 41.
