A showdown of two previous Grand Slam champions and a battle of unlikely semifinalists headline the final four of the Wimbledon women's singles draw.

Elena Rybakina is the only top-five seed left in the bracket and she will be expected to repeat her run to the grass-court title from 2022.

The No. 4 seed is in the best form of any woman left in the draw, and even though she has never beaten Barbora Krejcikova, she seems poised to reach her third Grand Slam final.

Jasmine Paolini may have the No. 7 seed next to her name, but she has been at the top of the women's game for a short time. She unexpectedly reached the French Open final and is one win away from a stunning run of back-to-back major finals.

Paolini is up against Donna Vekic, who is the lone member of the remaining quartet making her debut in a Grand Slam semifinal.

Rybakina and Paolini will be favored to win their respective matches, and if they meet in the final, it will pit two of the most in-form women's players against each other on Saturday.

The women's singles semifinals take place on Thursday and start at 8 a.m. ET. Both matches can be viewed on ESPN and live-streamed on ESPN.com and ESPN+.

No. 4 Elena Rybakina vs. No. 31 Barbora Krejcikova

Elena Rybakina has been viewed as the Wimbledon favorite since Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff suffered surprise early exits in the third and fourth rounds.

Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon champion, dropped a single set across her five matches to reach the semifinal.

The No. 4 seed took out Elina Svitolina in straight sets with ease on Wednesday to set up a semifinal showdown with Barbora Krejcikova.

Krejcikova, the 2021 French Open champion, had not been past the fourth round at Wimbledon prior to this season.

The No. 31 seed had the toughest path to the semifinal, as she took out a pair of top 15 seeds in Jelena Ostapenko and Danielle Collins.

Rybakina is in better form, but Krejcikova actually holds a 2-0 advantage in the head-to-head series.

However, both of those previous meetings went three sets and were only decided by a few points in the third set.

Krejcikova should at least push Rybakina based on their previous meetings, but it may be hard to defeat the No. 4 seed in tremendous form.

No. 7 Jasmine Paolini vs. Donna Vekic

Jasmine Paolini has been the breakout star on the women's Grand Slam circuit in 2024.

The seventh-seeded Italian had not made it out of the fourth round at any major prior to her run to the French Open final.

Paolini's record at Wimbledon was even worse going into 2024. She experienced three consecutive first-round exits on the grass court.

Paolini holds a wealth of experience in Grand Slam semifinals compared to Donna Vekic, who had two quarterfinal berths in a decade before Wimbledon.

Vekic's path throughout the draw got easier once Aryna Sabalenka withdrew. Vekic and Sabalenka would have met in the second round if the No. 3 seed was in the draw.

Vekic played a single seeded player, No. 28 Dayana Yastremska, while Paolini defeated a pair of top 20 seeds in the last two rounds.

Paolini owns a 2-1 advantage over Vekic in her career. All three of their head-to-head meetings finished in two sets.

Paolini's meteoric form at majors may be difficult for Vekic to stop, and if her strong play continues, she could be the first woman to reach multiple Grand Slam finals in 2024.
