Armando Bacot said he made more than $2 million in name, image and likeness deals during his five seasons at UNC.

Bacot revealed his NIL profits to fellow former Tar Heels star Theo Pinson on the Run Your Race podcast.

"I got life-changing money, in college, just off playing basketball," Bacot told Pinson. "That's why I'm forever thankful to Carolina, the brand, because to be able to make over $2 million just in college, it's crazy."

Bacot's NIL deals in college included agreements with Intuit TurboTax, Wingstop, Topps, GNC, RITZ Crackers, Dunkin', Frosted Flakes, crocs, Fanatics and Jimmy's Famous Seafood, according to On3.

"That speaks on the brand of Carolina, because if I didn't go to Carolina, doing deals with Turbo Tax, all those people, they wouldn't deal with me," Bacot said. "But I go to Carolina, so I'm able to."

Bacot continued: "If you go to Carolina, you handle business, you go out there and play, somewhat be marketable and stuff like that, it pays."

A five-year starter at UNC, Bacot averaged 15.6 points and 11.3 rebounds per game over his last three seasons with the team. He helped the Tar Heels finish the 2021-22 season as runners-up for the NCAA title.

UNC's pull with NIL deals has continued to draw strong recruiting classes to the program. North Carolina's class of 2024, which is ranked No. 9 among all incoming classes by 247Sports, includes 5-star prospects guard Ian Jackson and forward Drake Powell.
