Euro 2024 Bracket: Title Odds and Predictions After Monday's Round of 16 Results

The knockout stage of the 2024 Euro Cup continued on Monday, with four more teams vying for spots in the quarterfinal round.

The first match of the day featured a hard-fought contest that was scoreless for the first 85 minutes before France emerged with a narrow 1-0 victory. 90 minutes as well as extra time wasn't enough for the second match, as Portugal defeated Slovenia in penalties.

With just two open spots in the quarterfinals left, here's a closer look at Monday's action as well as the title odds of the remaining teams.

Even though France now owns the third-best odds to become champions, the team's victory over Belgium was far from easy. While France attempted 18 shots compared to Belgium's five, only two from each team were on goal.

The first and only goal of the match was scored after a shot from Randal Kolo Muani deflected off Belgium's Jan Vertonghen and resulted in an own goal.

Slovenia entered the day with the worst odds among the remaining teams, although Portugal struggled to convert on several scoring chances despite owning a large possession advantage.

Cristiano Ronaldo attempted a penalty near the end of the first half of extra time, although keeper Jan Oblak came up with an incredible save to keep the match scoreless. However, Ronaldo would earn some redemption by converting his next penalty once extra time concluded.

Portugal's Diogo Costa denied all three of Slovenia's attempts during the shootout to end the match and set up a clash between France and Kylian Mbappé. The upcoming quarterfinal battle between the two teams will eliminate one of the tournament heavyweights, as France and Portugal both have top five betting odds.
