Tom Brady, Mahomes, Embiid, More React to Jude Bellingham's Goal, England's Euro Win

Jude Bellingham's heroic moment in the 95th minute saved England in a 2-1 win over Slovakia in the Round of 16 at Euro 2024 and impressed some of the biggest stars from the sports world.

Trailing 1-0 in the fifth minute of stoppage time, Bellingham's bicycle kick found the corner of the net when Slovakia goalkeeper Martin Dúbravka was moving in the opposite direction.

Harry Kane's header in the first minute of extra time was the difference for the English team.

Everyone from Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady to Joel Embiid and J.J. Watt offered their praise to Bellingham and Kane for their instantly-iconic moments.

Kane also praised Bellingham's goal during his post-match interview:

"That's what Jude does. It was an unbelievable goal. One of the best in our country's history I reckon. What a player he is. He works so hard for the team. There has been a lot of talk about him the last couple of days and it shows what he can do. In big moments he steps up, and that's what we needed."

This hasn't been a stellar tournament so far for an England squad that was one of the pre-tournament favorites. The Three Lions won Group C with a 1-2-0 record, but scored just two goals in three matches.

England went 257 minutes without a goal before Bellingham's bicycle kick. The previous goal for the club was in the 18th minute by Kane in a 1-1 draw against Denmark on June 18.

One thing that has gone right for the English team throughout the tournament is their defense. They have only given up two goals in four matches. Spain, France and Belgium are the only other teams that have allowed two or fewer goals, but those teams have yet to play in the knockout round.

Next up for England is a showdown with Switzerland in the quarterfinals. The Swiss defeated Italy in the Round of 16 on Saturday to advance. This is the first meeting between the two countries since a March 2022 friendly won 2-1 by England.
