WWE Rumors on The Bloodline's Jacob Fatu and Dijak; Hardy Boys' TNA Contracts Update

Bleacher Report catches you up on the latest news from the WWE Universe.

Jacob Fatu's Planned Name Change Reportedly Nixed

Jacob Fatu made his WWE debut last week on SmackDown and joined The Bloodline, but initial plans reportedly called for him to go by a different name.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t WrestleTalk), WWE recently trademarked the name Caesar Sikoa, which was intended to be Fatu's new ring name.

Instead, WWE kept the Jacob Fatu name, which is Fatu's real name and the one he used at previous pro wrestling stops, including MLW and New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

After the SmackDown main event between Solo Sikoa and Cody Rhodes was thrown out due to a disqualification, a huge brawl broke out, involving Randy Orton, Kevin Owens and Bloodline members Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa.

Just when it looked like the babyfaces were going to come out on top, Fatu made his surprise debut and wreaked havoc, allowing The Bloodline to stand tall.

While Fatu got to keep his name, which has become a growing trend for WWE signings, Meltzer noted that it doesn't mean the Caesar Sikoa moniker is completely dead in the water.

WWE continues to make additions to The Bloodline, so it isn't outside the realm of possibility that their next signing could be given the Caesar Sikoa name.

It stands to reason that whoever is given that name would be presented as Solo Sikoa's brother, which would be a big spot to step into given that Solo has been the de facto leader of The Bloodline since WrestleMania.

Reported Details on Dijak's WWE Departure

New details have emerged regarding Dijak's departure from WWE after he announced Thursday that his last day with the company would be Friday.

Dijak took to X on Thursday to post a photo of a letter he wrote. In the letter, Dijak claimed that the WWE did not make him a contract offer and "stonewalled" him when he attempted to negotiate:

According to Fightful Select (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News), Dijak had positive early talks with WWE, but they didn't progress, and he was informed within the last two weeks that his deal would not be renewed.

It was also reported that while Dijak was well-liked by WWE officials, there were no concrete plans for him after getting called up from NXT to Raw as part of the WWE draft.

As a result, he was often not brought to television tapings, and when he was, it was for Main Event or WWE Speed rather than Raw.

Dijak reportedly saw the writing on the wall when he was not included in any Raw plans coming out of the draft.

The 37-year-old veteran signed with WWE back in 2017 and enjoyed the bulk of his success in NXT. He did have a run on the main roster under the name T-Bar as part of Retribution, but the stable never achieved much success, and he had to rebuild his career under the Dijak name in NXT.

Fightful noted that Dijak is already receiving plenty of interest within in the pro wrestling world and has been contacted by multiple companies, which comes as little surprise given his combination of size and in-ring ability.

Hardys Reportedly Working Without Contracts in TNA

Matt and Jeff Hardy have both made their presence felt in TNA since their AEW contracts expired, but neither of the Hardys are reportedly contractually tied to TNA.

According to Fightful Select (h/t Nikunj Walia of Ringside News), Matt and Jeff are working under verbal agreements in TNA and do not have formal contracts.

Matt made his TNA return in April at Rebellion, while Jeff showed up at Against All Odds this month, helping Matt, Nic Nemeth, Ryan Nemeth and Joe Hendry in a brawl with The System.

Both Matt and Jeff had highly successful runs in TNA in the past, so it made plenty of sense for TNA to be their first stop after what was a largely disappointing run in AEW.

The Hardys now have a chance to rebuild their value in TNA whether as a tag team or singles star, which could set the stage for their next move.

Fightful reported that while there haven't been any known substantial negotiations between AEW and the Hardys recently, the door is still open for them to return at some point.

WWE's stance on the Hardys returning is unclear, but given their status as legends in the company, it isn't outside the realm of possibility that they could resurface there eventually.

Of course, it is also possible that Matt and Jeff could ultimately signing contracts with TNA and be happy to stay there long term since they have long had a good relationship with the company.
