EA's College Football 25: Georgia, OSU, Oregon Team Lead Overall Team Power Rankings

Adam Wells

Three weeks away from the release of EA Sports College Football 25, the top 25 teams in the overall power rankings have been unveiled.

Georgia is the top team in the game with a 95 overall rating, followed by Ohio State at 93, Oregon at 93, Alabama at 92 and Texas at 92 to round out the top five.

Here is the full top 25 in the rankings:

  1. Georgia: 95 overall
  2. Ohio State: 93 overall
  3. Oregon: 93 overall
  4. Alabama: 92 overall
  5. Texas: 92 overall
  6. Clemson: 90 overall
  7. Notre Dame: 90 overall
  8. LSU: 90 overall
  9. Penn State: 88 overall
  10. Utah: 88 overall
  11. Michigan: 88 overall
  12. Florida State: 88 overall
  13. Miami: 88 overall
  14. Texas A&M: 88 overall
  15. Mississippi: 88 overall
  16. Colorado: 87 overall
  17. Oklahoma: 87 overall
  18. Wisconsin: 87 overall
  19. USC: 87 overall
  20. Virginia Tech: 87 overall
  21. North Carolina State: 87 overall
  22. Kansas: 87 overall
  23. Arizona: 87 overall
  24. Oklahoma State: 87 overall
  25. Iowa: 87 overall

The top two teams will come as a surprise to no one. Georgia is returning 16 starters on offense and defense from a team that went 13-1 and ranked fifth in points scored and points allowed per game last season.

It doesn't hurt that the Bulldogs also have the nation's top-ranked recruiting class to fill out their already-loaded depth chart, per 247Sports' composite rankings.

Ohio State at No. 2 does have a question mark at quarterback, but it looks like a good group led by transfer Julian Sayin and freshman Air Noland. Losing Marvin Harrison Jr. to the NFL hurts the receiving corps, but he will be replaced by No. 1 overall recruit Jeremiah Smith.

Oregon replaced Bo Nix, who finished third in Heisman voting last season, with incoming transfers Dillon Gabriel and Dante Moore. Gabriel would seem to have the inside track to the starting job as a sixth-year senior who threw for 3,660 yards and 30 touchdowns last season at Oklahoma.

Looking further down the top 25, two teams that stand out for different reasons are Michigan (No. 11) and Colorado (No. 16).

The reigning national champion Wolverines lost a ton of talent with 13 players selected in the 2024 NFL draft. Their biggest loss was head coach Jim Harbaugh, who was hired by the Los Angeles Chargers.

Sherrone Moore, who served as acting head coach when Harbaugh was suspended last season, is taking over on a full-time basis. This will be his first time as a full-time head coach in his career after spending the past 15 seasons as an assistant.

Deion Sanders has turned Colorado into one of the nation's most-talked about programs, but he didn't produce results in his first season. The Buffaloes lost eight of their final nine games after a 3-0 start and allowed the 10th-most points per game in FBS.

Colorado once again reshaped its roster during the offseason with 42 incoming transfers. The hope will be that group, along with returning stars like Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter, will push the program to its first winning season since 2020.

Gamers will get the chance to take the field as Colorado, Georgia, Michigan or whoever their favorite FBS program might be when the game drops on July 19. It will be available for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

The deluxe edition of the game will be available on July 16.
