While some wrestling fans believe WWE and AEW cannot coexist, Rhea Ripley and Buddy Matthews have proved otherwise.

The former WWE Women's World Champion and the AEW Superstar got married this month. Ripley posted a wedding photo to her Instagram with the caption, "Til death. 🖤 23.06.24."

Matthews previously worked in WWE under the alias Buddy Murphy before being released from his contract in July 2021. He and Ripley began dating publicly in 2022 and announced their engagement in August 2023.

Ripley has been sidelined since April due to a shoulder injury that forced her to vacate her Women's World Championship, which ended her reign at 380 days. A report from Fightful Select (h/t Eric Mutter of Wrestling Inc.) suggested that there's hope she can return before the SummerSlam premium live event on Aug. 3.

It remains to be seen if Ripley's marriage will affect her on-screen relationship with fellow Judgement Day member Dominik Mysterio, who is currently being pursued by her rival Liv Morgan.
