The Golden State Warriors will look a little different next season, but it's not because of changes coming to their roster.
The Warriors unveiled their new statement edition uniforms with an updated logo on Wednesday, giving fans a taste of what's coming in the 2024-25 season:
According to a press release, the new uniform "features a bold black and gray colorway with hints of Warriors' blue and gold." The Bay Bridge is represented by a sloping cable that connects the jersey to the shorts, and the team's new secondary logo is "featured prominently" on the shorts.
"We have the ability to redesign our Statement Edition uniform every three years, and we wanted to take full advantage of this unique opportunity," Warriors Senior Vice President of Marketing Amanda Chin said. "Aligning the launch of our new secondary logo with our 2024-25 Statement Edition uniform allowed us to highlight a new part of our core identity in a bold and exciting way."
Golden State's new uniforms are available for purchase as part of The Statement Edition Collection Designed by Benny Gold. The new logo was created in collaboration with Silverstein Goodby & Partners Design.
"The Warriors are widely considered to have the greatest shooting backcourt in the game's history," said Gold, who designed the logo for SG&P Design. "The new logo represents the team's renowned style of play by combining a 'W' for Warriors with a net symbolizing 3-point shooting. The monogram is designed to resemble a basketball net and rim, with the slight arch in the 'W' giving the impression of a ball dropping through the net."
Golden State also plans to reveal new City Edition and Classic Edition uniforms for the upcoming campaign at a later date.
The Warriors went 46-36 this past season and lost to the Sacramento Kings in the play-in tournament. Star point guard Stephen Curry and company will be looking to lead Golden State back to title contention next year.
