Video: Max Drops Trailer and Release Date for Giants on 'Hard Knocks: Offseason'

We are just one week away from getting a behind-the-scenes look at an NFL franchise's offseason for the first time.

Hard Knocks: Offseason will premiere July 2 with the New York Giants taking center stage as they try to retool following a disappointing 2023 season.

A playoff team in 2022, the Giants went 6-11 last season amid continued offensive struggles. Quarterback Daniel Jones was limited to six starts and was one of the sport's worst starters when in the lineup. He's headed into the 2024 season with his job firmly on the hot seat, and the Giants lost top offensive playmaker Saquon Barkley to the Philadelphia Eagles in free agency.

New York invested a first-round pick in wideout Malik Nabers, giving Jones arguably the best weapon of his career, but it's still looking like an uphill battle. Barkley will be replaced by the combination of Devin Singletary, Eric Gray and Tyrone Tracy Jr., none of whom have his level of breakaway speed.

Nabers, for all of his physical talents, is still a rookie receiver playing with a below-average quarterback. There is only so much he can do if Jones continues to underperform.

The Giants will almost certainly move on from Jones after the 2024 season and could do so earlier if Drew Lock winds up impressing in camp. Lock has not been impressive in stops with the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks, but he was brought in as a capable backup just in case Jones falters.
