Scottie Scheffler Beats Tom Kim in Playoff at Travelers Championship; 6th Win of 2024

Scottie Scheffler's tremendous season continued on Sunday as the golfer won the Travelers Championship to give him his sixth win of the year.

Scheffler finished at 22-under-par, beating Tom Kim in a playoff after the two were tied following 72 holes.

Scheffler rounded out a strong showing by carding a five-under-par 70 in the fourth round on Sunday. He had a pair of birdies on the sixth and seventh holes before notching three straight birdies on the back nine.

There was a disruption near the end of the day as protestors stormed the 18th hole. The protest happened as Scheffler, Kim and Akshay Bhatia were all on the green, and there was a pause in action as police cleared the protesters off of the playing area.

Scheffler and Kim played the playoff on the 18th hole, though the location of the hole was moved.

After Sunday's win, Scheffler has now won the Travelers Championship, the Arnold Palmer Invitational, the Players Championship, the Masters Tournament, the RBC Heritage and the Memorial Tournament. He has also finished in the top 10 at five other events.

The world's No. 1 golfer has also brought in a lofty $27,696,858 in earnings this season alone. He broke his own record for single-season earnings at the Memorial Tournament and has continued to rack up prize money since. He added $3.6 million with the win on Sunday.

Up next, Scheffler will travel to Detroit where he'll look to add another win at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.
