Real Madrid Beat Dortmund to Win 15th UCL Title, Hailed by Fans as 'Inevitable'

Paul Kasabian

Real Madrid are truly inevitable.

Despite struggling for much of the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid rallied late for a 2-0 victory.

Dani Carvajal scored a 71st-minute header off a Toni Kroos corner kick for the game-winning goal.

Real Madrid scored 12 minutes later after Dortmund left back Ian Maatsen turned the ball over directly to Jude Bellingham, who found Vinícius Júnior for the goal.

Dortmund dominated the entire first half but had nothing to show for it:

Dortmund had eight shots (three on target), while Real Madrid had two shots (none on target). In fact, Real Madrid has zero first-half shot attempts at all after the 15th minute.

Dortmund even finished the match with more expected goals despite the rough second half:

But none of that mattered, as Real Madrid, the pre-match favorites, pulled through in the second half to clinch victory.

Naturally, fans and analysts alike were impressed with the effort.

Real Madrid has now won 15 Champions League titles, including six since 2014.
