Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark experienced numerous highs and lows in her long-awaited WNBA debut on Tuesday.
On one hand, she dropped 20 points, 13 of which came in the second half. She also made four three-pointers, dished three assists and recorded a pair of steals.
On the other hand, Clark committed 10 turnovers, shot just 5-of-15 and ultimately finished minus-13 in a 92-71 road loss to the Connecticut Sun. Her turnover mark was the most all time in an WNBA debut.
Credit should notably go to Sun wing DiJonai Carrington for some sensational defense on Clark in this one.
Brighter days are certainly ahead for Clark, the two-time consensus national player of the year who constructed a laundry list of accolades, accomplishments and records at Iowa.
Tuesday, though, proved to be a bit of a rocky start en route to a bright future ahead.
Clark will make her long-awaited home debut on Thursday at 7 p.m. ET when the New York Liberty come to town.
