Free agent cornerback Stephon Gilmore is still looking for his next team, and he believes his age shouldn't be a concern as teams weigh whether to offer him a contract.

"I'm still focused on playing, but it has to be the right opportunity," Gilmore told NFL insider Josina Anderson. "I feel like it's the age thing with some of these teams. If I was 28, I would already have been signed by now; at the same time, I know the value I still bring. If you watch the tape, I feel like I played well the last two years, and literally almost played every snap last year. So I'm staying patient, while watching my son who's a wide receiver and cornerback lock people up on the field with his defensive back skills too."

Gilmore, who will turn 34 during the 2024 NFL season, had 68 tackles, a pair of interceptions and 13 passes deflected with the Dallas Cowboys last year. While he is entering the late stages of his career, he's still a productive cornerback—his 68 tackles were a career-high last season.

As Gilmore said, he's remained durable and has managed to play plenty of snaps. Last season, he played a team-high 1,002 snaps, per Pro Football Reference, appearing in 93.64 percent of the Cowboys' defensive snaps.

The five-time Pro Bowler and 2019 NFL Defensive Player of the Year has played for the Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots, Carolina Panthers, Indianapolis Colts and a sole season with the Cowboys and is now searching for his next team.

His two-year, $20 million deal that he signed with the Colts expired following the 2023 season, and Dallas has not offered him a new deal with Trevon Diggs returning following a torn ACL that sidelined him for most of the season.

Gilmore believes he still has plenty to offer to a team willing to sign him, but for now, he will wait to get the offer he is seeking.
