Daniel Jeremiah Grades Steelers, Chargers, Eagles as Big Winners After NFL Draft 2024

After the conclusion of the 2024 NFL draft, NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah pegged the Pittsburgh Steelers, Los Angeles Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles as his biggest winners of the weekend.

For the Steelers, he praised the offensive line picks they got in Troy Fautanu, Zach Frazier and Mason McCormick.

"I love what the Steelers did, man," Jeremiah said on the Rich Eisen Show. "You get Fautanu from Washington to play left tackle, I love the fit there, the athleticism, the physicality there at left tackle. They go out and get Zach Frazier one of the top centers in the draft, who's plug and play. The wrestling background, the toughness. He oozes that he could be a Steeler. And then they go out and get [Mason] McCormick from South Dakota State, who's a strong, powerful guard. They have added a lot of young, talented resources to that offensive line."

Jeremiah also gave a nod to Pittsburgh for landing Michigan wide receiver Roman Wilson in the third round.

Jeremiah gave Chargers new head coach Jim Harbaugh credit for going for an offensive lineman with the No. 5 pick but still managing to land a talented wide receiver in Ladd McConkey in the second round.

"Everybody was expecting them to go receiver and they go out and get the best offensive lineman in the draft in my opinion in Joe Alt," Jeremiah said. "And then [Ladd) McConkey's there for them in the second round, who I love, who's really a complete wide receiver."

For his final winner of the weekend, the Eagles, he gave them the nod for solving one of their major problems, which was the secondary.

"When you have a problem on your team, I believe that you use full resources, do whatever you have to do to solve the biggest problem," Jeremiah said. "Don't solve a little bit of this problem, a little bit of that problem. Identify what your biggest weakness is and attack it with ferocity. And that was their secondary and they went out and go two of the top four corners in the draft."

Philadelphia picked up cornerbacks Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean with its first and second-round picks.

While we won't know who the true winners and losers of the draft are until the season begins, Jeremiah has an idea of who fared the best.
