Korey Cunningham Dies at Age 28; Former NFL OT Played for Giants, Patriots, Cardinals

Former NFL offensive tackle Korey Cunningham has died at the age of 28.

The New York Giants, who Cunningham played with from 2021 to 2022, issued a statement on Friday:

Per ESPN's Jordan Raanan, Cunningham was found dead in his home on Thursday. No other details are available at this time.

Cunningham was a seventh-round pick by the Arizona Cardinals in the 2018 NFL draft and started six games as a rookie. He was traded to the New England Patriots prior to the 2019 season.

The Cincinnati alum appeared in 12 games over two seasons with the Patriots. He joined the Giants in September 2021 when he was signed to their practice squad. The Giants signed him to the active roster midway through the season. He appeared in a total of 13 games between the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

Cunningham appeared in a total of 31 games and made six starts during his five-year NFL career. He was a four-year player at the University of Cincinnati from 2014 to '17, earning second-team All-American Athletic Conference honors in his final season.
