Giants Rumors: Marvin Harrison Jr. Drawing 'Real Interest' Ahead of 2024 NFL Draft

Adam Wells

While most of the talk about the New York Giants potentially trading up in the 2024 NFL draft is about their interest in a quarterback, there could be another player they would target if that scenario plays out.

Per The Athletic's Jeff Howe, the Giants have "shown real interest" in Marvin Harrison Jr.

The expectation is still that a trade up for New York would mean it is likely going to select a quarterback, possibly J.J. McCarthy, but there is at least the potential for multiple scenarios to be in play.

There is a scenario in which the Giants stand pat at No. 6 and Harrison is still on the board. This would likely require four of the first picks to be quarterbacks, which isn't implausible, and whichever one of the Arizona Cardinals (No. 4) or Los Angeles Chargers (No. 5) doesn't trade down to select either one of the other top receivers or perhaps an offensive tackle.

ESPN's Louis Riddick reported last week there are "many evaluators" who have LSU's Malik Nabers ranked as the top receiver in this class. The Cardinals and/or Chargers could be in that group, which could have Harrison in play for the Giants.

The Giants could also look to address the quarterback position later in the draft. If they like one of Michael Penix Jr. or Bo Nix, they could try to trade back into the first round or wait until the second round and hope either of them is still on the board when their pick comes up at No. 47.

If the Giants decide not to make a trade, they would be counting on a lot of dominoes not falling over if their ultimate goal is to have Harrison fall in their lap at No. 6.
