Shedeur Sanders: DeAndre Hopkins, Cowboys' Ceedee Lamb Are Dream NFL WR Teammates

Jack Murray

Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders has an idea of who he would like to throw to in the NFL.

In Thursday's episode of the All The Smoke podcast, Sanders was asked about who his "dream wide receiver" to play with in the NFL would be. Sanders was quick to name Tennessee Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, and also expressed that he would enjoy playing with Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.

The 31-year-old Hopkins has been named to the Pro Bowl five times and has eclipsed 1,000 receiving yards seven times in his career. He has 12,355 career receiving yards and 78 touchdowns.

Lamb is closer in age to Sanders, as he is just 25 years old and has emerged as one of the top receivers in the league. He has eclipsed 1,000 receiving yards in three of his four seasons, with a 1,749-yard season in 2023 showing how explosive he can be. He has also been named to the Pro Bowl three times.

Sanders will return to Colorado for the 2024 season but could be an intriguing quarterback prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft. He threw for 3,230 passing yards with 27 touchdowns and three interceptions during the 2023 season and had a 69.3 completion percentage.

While this didn't translate into huge team success for Colorado, as the Buffaloes went 4-8, Sanders will still be a force to be reckoned with as the program prepares to join the Big 12.

Another interesting note is that both Hopkins and Lamb could be free agents ahead of the 2025 Draft. Hopkins' deal with the Titans is set to expire following the 2024 season, while Lamb's rookie deal is also set to expire.

While Dallas will surely try to extend Lamb, it still could be something a team that is targeting Sanders could look at.
