Some of the best men's college basketball programs in the country are interested in Andrej Stojaković.

ESPN's Jeff Borzello reported Wednesday that the guard, who is the son of former NBA player Peja Stojaković, has drawn interest from North Carolina, Kentucky, Michigan, Creighton, Washington, USC and Louisville.

What's more, the Stanford transfer visited Cal, which remains "very much in the mix."

Stojaković arrived at Stanford as a 5-star prospect and the No. 25 overall prospect in the recruiting class of 2023, per 247Sports' composite rankings.

While he made headlines for being the son of a former NBA player, he was a highly regarded prospect in his own right with the ability to score from all over the floor as a matchup nightmare who could play guard or forward.

Yet he was more of a secondary contributor for the Cardinal in his freshman season and averaged 7.8 points and 3.4 rebounds in 22.3 minutes per game. He shot 40.9 percent from the field and 32.7 percent from deep and appeared in 22 contests with 10 starts.

His highest scoring output came in a Pac-12 victory over USC on Feb. 10 when he poured in 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field and 4-of-7 from deep.

It was a performance reminiscent of some of his father's in the NBA. The elder Stojaković was a three-time All-Star during a 13-season NBA career that included stops on the Sacramento Kings, Indiana Pacers, New Orleans Hornets, Toronto Raptors and Dallas Mavericks.

As for his son, Kentucky being involved is not a surprise. The departure of head coach John Calipari to Arkansas means new coach Mark Pope has to rebuild much of the roster and incoming recruiting class.

Landing someone with the potential of Stojaković, who could develop into a go-to scorer if he is more involved in the offense, is an ideal way to do just that. But the Wildcats have plenty of competition for the transfer who will look to be a bigger contributor wherever he ends up.
