Jayden Daniels '100%' Comfortable with Being Drafted by Commanders amid NFL Rumors

Jayden Daniels addressed rumors he does not want to play for the Washington Commanders, saying he will "100 percent" play for any team that drafts him in the 2024 NFL draft.

"I'm blessed to go wherever I'm called. Whoever calls my phone, (when the) commissioner gets up and says my name, I'll be blessed, and they're going to get my all," Daniels said Wednesday.

Rumors of Daniels' willingness to play for the Commanders have been swirling recently after he was reportedly unhappy with how his team visit went. Rather than receiving a 1-on-1 visit with team management, Daniels was part of a larger group the organization brought in together.

Daniels' agent seemingly acknowledged frustration with the process on social media last week.

"It didn't seem to go over too well with the agent for Jayden Daniels, Ron Butler, who sounded off on social media that he didn't seem particularly pleased with the process," ESPN's Adam Schefter Schefter said on Get Up. "I think Jayden Daniels thought it would be a visit with just him meeting with the Commanders. Many people think that Jayden Daniels will wind up being the No. 2 overall pick. But the Commanders essentially opened up the process."

Daniels has been the favorite to land in Washington for much of the pre-draft process. The reigning Heisman winner's combination of downfield passing ability and explosive rushing has made him one of the most coveted prospects in the entire draft.

The awkwardness between Daniels and the Commanders isn't a great way to launch a long-term partnership. That said, all's well that ends with touchdowns on Sundays. If Daniels winds up living up to his billing, this small bit of tension will be a blip in the rearview mirror.

On the other hand, if things wind up going sideways, we could look back on this time as a sign of things to come.
