WWE Mock Draft 2024: Round-By-Round Picks For Raw, SmackDown and NXT

Erik Beaston

For fans of WWE, few events are more exciting and anticipated than the company's draft, a two-night shuffling of talent designed to create new rivalries and matchups to fuel the product through the rest of the year and into next year's WrestleMania.

The 2024 WWE draft kicks off Friday on SmackDown and continues Monday on Raw, with talent from those two brands and NXT eligible to be selected.

This mock draft looks at the Superstars who could be on the move and why the brand they land on is best for them.

There is no word on the official format of the draft this year. With that in mind, for the sake of this mock, each of the three brands represented selects a Superstar/team/faction over the course of 10 rounds.

Who landed where? Find out with this preview of one of the best and most unpredictable events on the WWE calendar.

Round 1

SmackDown: Cody Rhodes
Raw: The Judgment Day
NXT: Trick Williams

Undisputed WWE universal champion Cody Rhodes is the no-brainer at No. 1 considering his status as the face of the company at this point.

There will be some who say Roman Reigns should be this pick, and there is an argument to be made for The Tribal Chief, but the entire point of putting Rhodes over him at WrestleMania 40 was to establish The American Nightmare as the guy in WWE.

The Judgment Day may be a cheap selection as a faction. Still, it is also garners heat for Damian Priest, who can then fight against the idea that he needs Finn Bálor, JD McDonagh and Dominik Mysterio to preserve his title reign. They have been too ingrained in Raw to be broken up or moved without a proper split.

Trick Williams is fixing to be the face of the NXT brand and being selected at the No. 1 position for the gold brand would continue his coronation.

SmackDown: Roman Reigns
Raw: Jey Uso
NXT: The Good Brothers and Michin

It remains to be seen if Roman Reigns will even be eligible for the draft but if he is, SmackDown is the most obvious place for him to continue his epic Bloodline story.

That there are guaranteed viewers on USA Network this fall for the blue brand, as opposed to the uncertainty of Raw on Netflix, makes it seem more likely that WWE will stack the top of the card with star power—and none burns brighter than The Tribal Chief.

Jey Uso has carved out his own space in WWE as a singles star and, although all roads seemingly lead back to a reunion with brother Jimmy and a feud with Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga, he is a valuable top-tier star who can believably challenge Damian Priest and other world champions for their titles.

The Good Brothers have already appeared on NXT but considering neither they nor Michin have been given much to do on the main roster, letting them reheat their acts while working with younger talent on the gold brand is the type of move that typically pays off.

Look no further than Baron Corbin.

Round 3

SmackDown: The Bloodline
Raw: Seth Rollins
NXT: Roxanne Perez

The Bloodline's Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga have only just begun to dig their heels in and assume dominance on SmackDown. Taking them off the show and sending them to Raw would be cutting off the story's momentum.

At one point, it did seem Seth Rollins could be moved in this draft, arguably as the biggest name to be dealt. Then, Becky Lynch won the Women's World Championship. Assuming WWE would not swap the titles after establishing the red brand as the "world" set of belts, it seems unlikely The Visionary is going anywhere.

Roxanne Perez is going to headline WWE premium live events for the next 10-15 years, but her time in NXT is not yet done. With Williams, she will be one of the faces of the gold brand.

Round 4

SmackDown: Sami Zayn
Raw: Damage CTRL
NXT: Oba Femi

The announcement that United States champion Logan Paul will appear on Monday's Raw seems to indicate the social media star will be one of the new faces on the red brand moving forward.

If that is the case, then it is likely Sami Zayn finds his way to SmackDown, where he can continue his feud with The Bloodline and reunite with Kevin Owens, with whom he has plenty of story left to tell based on the fans' reaction to their interaction at WrestleMania.

Damage CTRL have been beaten down by Bayley, Jade Cargill, Naomi and Bianca Belair at this point so jumping to Raw and potentially targeting Becky Lynch, with whom they have history, seems like a potential momentum rebuilder. Especially if Asuka and Kairi Sane are fixing to drop the tag team titles to Cargill and Belair.

Oba Femi is one of the brightest young stars in WWE, but there is unlimited potential for growth and evolution for him in NXT. Moving him up would be a misstep, but the gold brand retaining the 26-year-old is the right move.

Round 5

SmackDown: Imperium (Gunther and Ludwig Kaiser)
Raw: Legado del Fantasma
NXT: The Final Testament

During his reign as intercontinental champion, Gunther conquered every opponent put before him regardless of brand, but he could use a change of scenery—one that puts him on a collision course with Cody Rhodes in an undisputed WWE title match.

It is an upward move for the Austrian and sets him up to headline Bash in Berlin on August 31 against the top babyface in the promotion.

The seeds have been planted for weeks that Legado del Fantasma and The Judgment Day are headed to a feud. Monday night, we again saw Dominik Mysterio turn to Santos Escobar for support when injury forced him out of a scheduled tag team match.

Escobar failed to win the match, infuriating a Damian Priest who already does not trust him. Look for WWE to further explore that storyline on Monday nights.

It's tough to find a spot for The Final Testament on the main roster. On NXT, though, they can thrive as heel foils for Trick Williams and other top babyfaces on the brand. A reboot for the group, and Karrion Kross in particular, would serve everyone well.

Round 6

WWE/Getty Images

SmackDown: Bayley
Raw: Randy Orton
NXT: Natalya

There is no need to mix up championships right now. Bayley is the new WWE women's champion and still has plenty of time to rule over the blue brand. She could use some fresh opponents, but that is what the supplemental draft is for, which WWE almost always holds in the wake of the main draft.

Randy Orton jumping to Raw gives the red brand an injection of star power on the babyface side of things, something it badly needs. It also sets up a scenario in which he can work with Priest and help develop him into a legitimate world champion. No one in the last 10 years has been worse off for having worked with The Viper.

Natalya is a veteran with the potential to be so important in developing and preparing the next generation of female Superstars in WWE. There's no better place to do that than NXT.

Round 7

WWE/Getty Images

SmackDown: Chad Gable
Raw: Becky Lynch
NXT: Shinsuke Nakamura

Where Zayn goes, Chad Gable goes. The leader of Alpha Academy has introduced his heel persona and the intercontinental champ figures to feel his wrath after the shocking beatdown that necessitated the turn.

This story has such promise that robbing the fans and performers of it by splitting them up does not make sense.

Becky Lynch won the Women's World Championship on Monday's Raw. She's not going anywhere.

If there is one guy on the main roster who could most benefit from a long-term trip back to NXT, it's Shinsuke Nakamura. The brand suits him and his pre-taped promos, he can bring his expertise to a young locker room and perhaps regain the world championship form he has never been able to show on the main roster.

Round 8

WWE/Getty Images

SmackDown: Charlotte Flair
Raw: LA Knight
NXT: Cedric Alexander and Ashantee Adonis

Charlotte Flair remaining on SmackDown, potentially as a heel, opens up a possible rivalry with Bayley. The Queen can move seamlessly between babyface and villain, making her a valuable asset for WWE beyond her superb in-ring ability and proven star power.

LA Knight would inject star power on Monday nights and create a real opportunity for himself to finally win the world heavyweight title. He's never going to do that on SmackDown due to the logjam of top stars there, but Raw represents new opportunities and a shot at one of the top prizes in WWE.

Cedric Alexander and Ashante Adonis had a brief flirtation with SmackDown, only to have their vignettes stop at two and never actually make the show on a regular basis. Sending them to NXT, letting them get on TV every week and helping younger names in the tag team division is the perfect use of a talented tandem that has been criminally underused.

Round 9

WWE/Getty Images

SmackDown: A-Town Down Under
Raw: Logan Paul
NXT: Lyra Valkyria

WWE tag team champions A-Town Down Under stay put on SmackDown, where they have carved out a niche for themselves as entertaining heels who can mix it up in a division brimming with talent or flirt with the main event talent on the show.

Logan Paul jumps to Raw here, ensuring the red brand has a secondary champion of its own in the wake of Zayn joining SmackDown. It also keeps him close to LA Knight, which still feels like the endgame for both of those competitors.

Lyra Valkyria is one of the best women's wrestlers in WWE. But, with a host of superb in-ring competitors on the main roster, there's no need to rush her from NXT.

Round 10

WWE/Getty Images

SmackDown: Tiffany Stratton
Raw: Drew McIntyre
NXT: Chase U

Tiffany Stratton is only just beginning to find her spot in the women's division on SmackDown and is poised to challenge Bayley for the WWE women's title shortly.

The 24-year-old has become one of the breakout stars of the future and while she would shine on Raw thanks to her personality and in-ring athleticism, staying on SmackDown and working with the likes of Bayley, Flair and Belair will be for the best.

Drew McIntyre being Raw's last major draft pick here just fits his character. He's been underappreciated for so long that the idea of brand officials forgetting he was still available at No. 10 and coming in at the last second to select him would only further fuel his anger. That, or this could be where his contract situation is worked into television, with neither general manager willing to waste an earlier pick on someone who isn't signed for the long term.

Andre Chase, Duke Hudson and Thea Hail are one of the most fun acts on NXT TV as Chase University. There are other more interesting moves to make here, but ensuring their long-term involvement on the show is a great way to wrap things up for the gold brand.
