Jayden Daniels Names Lamar Jackson, C.J. Stroud as Inspirations Before 2024 NFL Draft

Former LSU quarterback and projected top 2024 draft pick Jayden Daniels named Lamar Jackson and C.J. Stroud as inspirations during Tuesday's episode of Cold as Balls with Kevin Hart.

Daniels told Hart he had reached out to both of the NFL quarterbacks.

"Just kind of getting knowledge and little nuggets from them," Daniels said. "They've been there. They were through it. Everybody had different experience, so I kind of have an idea of what I'm getting myself into."

Jackson, the No. 32 pick of the 2018 NFL Draft, is heading into his seventh season with the Baltimore Ravens after his second career All-Pro campaign in 2023.

Meanwhile Stroud, selected No. 2 during the 2023 draft, is returning for his second campaign with the Houston Texans after he was named Offensive Rookie of the Year last season.

Like Stroud, Daniels could go as high as No. 2 in the upcoming draft. With the Chicago Bears expected to draft USC quarterback Caleb Williams, he may be selected by the Washington Commanders with the following pick.

After moving on from Sam Howell, the Commanders are looking for their next franchise quarterback.

That means Daniels could face the pressure of becoming a starter during his rookie NFL season. Luckily for the 2023 Heisman Trophy winner, he is in contact with two players who have been through it all before in Jackson and Stroud.
