Finn Balor to Reportedly Sign 'Big Money' WWE Contract; Says He 'Ain't Going Nowhere'

Doric Sam

Finn Balor started his WWE career 10 years ago, and he's set to stay put for the foreseeable future.

On Monday, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported that Balor has re-signed with WWE on a "multi-year, big-money contract." Balor tweeted earlier that he wasn't going anywhere:

An earlier report from Fightful (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News) noted that Balor "would have major interest outside of the company," and "specifically AEW is looking to sign potential free agents this summer." The report added that Balor's "name was on their list of talent they were keeping an eye on," but his new deal with WWE appears to now be official.

After a standout career in New Japan Pro Wrestling, Balor signed with WWE in 2014 and quickly established himself as a future main-event star, winning the NXT Championship that same year. He became one of the most popular stars in the history of WWE's developmental brand, and he made the jump to the main roster in 2016.

Upon his move to Monday Night Raw, Balor immediately earned a spot in the inaugural Universal Championship match against Seth Rollins. While he won the match and became the first Universal Champion in WWE history, he suffered a torn labrum in his shoulder that forced him to relinquish the title the very next night.

After working his way back from surgery, Balor managed to return to prominence by becoming a two-time Intercontinental Champion. He also returned to NXT and turned heel for the first time, bringing back shades of his character in NJPW. He's currently a member of The Judgment Day, with whom he became a two-time WWE Undisputed Tag Team Champion alongside Damian Priest.

At 42 years old, Balor is still performing at a high level. There have been signs that he could eventually turn against Priest, who now holds the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Fans will undoubtedly enjoy watching Balor continue his career in WWE after signing his new deal.
