Three-time Grammy Award-winning musician Bad Bunny's sports agency, Rimas Sports, is reportedly facing a $400,000 fine from the Major League Baseball Players Association.

According to ESPN's Alden Gonzalez, Rimas Sports is also facing a five-year suspension for lead agent William Arroyo. Arroyo's agent certification was revoked on April 10 after the MLBPA opened an investigation regarding improper benefits provided to players.

The notice of discipline also prevents Rimas Sports executives Jonathan Miranda and Noah Assad from applying for agent certification for five years, per Gonzalez.

Rimas Sports launched in April 2023 as part of a partnership with independent record label Rimas Entertainment. Bad Bunny, Miranda and Assad all hold prominent positions within the company.

Brittany Ghiroli of The Athletic initially reported on April 12 that the agency was facing "significant punishment" from the MLBPA.

Per Gonzalez, the MLBPA received evidence that the company had offered players cash and gifts to switch agencies "within one week" of the April 2023 launch.

Rimas Sports requested a temporary restraining order that would have allowed Arroyo to continue representing clients while navigating an appeal of his decertification, although the request was denied by an arbitrator (via Gonzalez). Michael Velazquez, another certified agent at Rimas Sports, must leave the agency by May 10 or face potential decertification.

The agency represents several notable MLB players including New York Mets catcher Francisco Álvarez and infielder Ronny Mauricio, Cincinnati Reds infielder Santiago Espinal, Colorado Rockies outfielder Yonathan Daza and shortstop Ezequiel Tovar, San Francisco Giants infielder Wilmer Flores and Oakland Athletics infielder Jordan Díaz.

On April 18, Ghiroli revealed that Atlanta Braves star outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr. was also expected to sign with Rimas Sports in a marketing and off-field capacity.

Gonzalez noted that "most" of the players represented by the agency requested to be placed on the MLBPA's Do Not Contact list to prevent other agents from recruiting them while Rimas' standing is unsettled.
