Becky Lynch Wins WWE Women's World Title; Rhea Ripley Vacated Last Week on Raw

A new WWE Women's World Champion has been crowned, as Becky Lynch emerged victorious in a Battle Royal on this week's episode of Monday Night Raw to claim the title that was recently vacated by longtime champion Rhea Ripley.

This is Lynch's seventh world championship reign in WWE.

Lynch outlasted Nia Jax and Liv Morgan in the final three of Monday's 15-woman Battle Royal. She was put through a table earlier in the match but managed to come back and win.

The championship belt was put up for grabs after Ripley was forced to relinquish it last week after suffering a shoulder injury earlier this month. Ripley held the title for 380 days after winning it from Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 39 last year, and she successfully defended it against Lynch at WrestleMania 40.

Lynch will have a tough act to follow, as Ripley was one of the hottest acts in WWE during her title run. She made waves as the mouthpiece of The Judgment Day alongside Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio, JD McDonagh and current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest. She also dominated her opposition during her title defenses.

WWE has made it clear since WrestleMania 40 that it is embarking on a new era under new head of creative Paul "Triple H" Leveque. While the company is headed in a new direction, putting the title on Lynch once again is more of the same, but the veteran should be able to help build new stars during her latest reign.
