After becoming WWE Universal Champion earlier this month, Cody Rhodes is reportedly set to make a jump to the big screen.

According to Russ Weakland and Nola Ojomu of DailyMail.com, Rhodes will make his feature film debut in the upcoming Naked Gun reboot that stars Liam Neeson and Pamela Anderson.

An insider said that Rhodes' role will be a cameo, and there's a chance that he gets hypnotized in a nod to the original 1988 hit comedy.

"It may be a cameo but his role is important and lends itself to the full story of the film," the source said. It was also added that "to make things a little easier for himself, he might actually end up playing himself in the film."

Rhodes has made television acting appearances in the past, most notably appearing in seven episodes of Arrow from 2016 to 2018. However, this will be his first foray onto the silver screen.

"Cody has had experience being in front of a camera besides the WWE by working on Arrow and a few other shows," the insider said. "But this will be a huge movie and Cody is super excited to film his part and make it something that's both fun for him and funny for everyone that sees it."

Details about the plot and a potential release date have yet to be revealed, but fans will surely be excited to see Rhodes in his film debut.
