Gobert, Jordan Poole, Trae Young, Dillon Brooks Voted Most Overrated by NBA Players

Sam Amick and Josh Robbins of The Athletic released their yearly anonymous NBA player poll following the 2023-24 season, and one of the most interesting categories is always who is considered the most overrated in the league.

This year, 13.6 percent of the 81 players who voted on that category said it was Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert, followed by Washington Wizards guard Jordan Poole (8.6 percent), Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young (7.4 percent), Houston Rockets wing Dillon Brooks (4.9 percent) and Los Angeles Clippers star James Harden (4.9 percent).

Gobert is a three-time Defensive Player of the Year award, but a number of his peers clearly don't believe he has as big of an impact as is perceived.

Poole's presence doesn't come as a huge surprise—he can put the ball in the hoop, but not at a particularly efficient level, and his numbers were down this year going from the Golden State Warriors to Washington Wizards.

And Young was named the NBA's most overrated player in last year's anonymous NBA player poll run by The Athletic, so his presence in the top three is to be expected.
