The Tennessee Titans have been heavily linked with one position for most of the pre-NFL draft season.

Tennessee needs offensive line help and it is expected to be in line to take the top offensive tackle in the 2024 draft class.

Notre Dame's Joe Alt has been mocked to the Titans for quite some time and it would take quite the surprise in the top six for him to not be available at No. 7.

Tennessee must have a backup plan in place just in case Alt is chosen above it. Penn State's Olumuyiwa Fashanu appears to fit that role.

The Titans could look to another position as well, but it looks like offensive line is the primary target for Thursday's selection.

Joe Alt

Nothing is ever guaranteed during draft season, but it looks like Alt to the Titans is a safe bet.

Bleacher Report's NFL scouting department and ESPN.com's Mel Kiper Jr. both mocked Alt to the AFC South franchise.

"There may not be a more perfect pairing between prospect and team than Notre Dame's Joe Alt to the Tennessee Titans." the B/R staff wrote.

Alt would provide a significant upgrade to one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL from a year ago.

He would immediately start at left tackle and provide protection for projected starting quarterback Will Levis.

The Titans can't afford to have their young quarterback on the ground on a ton of occasions in 2024. Alt's presence on the left can help with that.

Olumuyiwa Fashanu

Fashanu is either the second-or-third-best offensive tackle off the board in most mock drafts.

B/R's NFL scouting department predicted he would be the No. 9 overall pick, while Kiper and Field Yates at ESPN believe he will go 14th.

The Penn State product is the best backup option for the Titans if Alt is not available at No. 7.

In that case, the Titans have to weigh whether Fashanu, or another offensive lineman, is worth the No. 7 selection.

If not, the Titans could go the best player available route and add an upgrade on the defensive interior, or even another wide receiver.

The Los Angeles Chargers are the team to watch in front of the Titans for offensive linemen.

If Los Angeles goes after Alt at No. 5, the Titans will be forced into their Plan B.

Dallas Turner

The Titans have two options if they do not go after an offensive lineman at No. 7.

Alabama EDGE Dallas Turner is probably the better choice than any of the wide receivers on the board because of the team's positional needs.

Turner would give the Titans a dynamic rusher to complement Harold Landry III and Jeffrey Simmons.

The potential addition of Turner would shore up a defense that added L'Jarius Sneed and Kenneth Murray in free agency.

Tennessee does not need a wide receiver at No. 7 because it already has Calvin Ridley, De'Andre Hopkins and Treylon Burks on the roster.

A fourth wide receiver, or even tight end Brock Bowers, would not make sense when the Titans could upgrade their defense more if Alt is not around at No. 7.
