The world's biggest pop star and her three-time Super Bowl-winning boyfriend won't be part of one of the most prestigious celebrity gatherings of the year.

According to TMZ, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce won't attend the annual Met Gala in New York City on May 6.

Both of them received invitations to the event but checked the "no" box on the RSVP, TMZ reported Friday/

It's not a huge surprise that Swift would skip the event. She is set to resume the Eras Tour on May 9 in Paris, France.

If we assume Swift won't be able to attend because of her touring schedule, Kelce would have no reason to be there unless he really wants to mingle.

The Met Gala is an annual fundraising event at the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Guests include some of the biggest names in fashion, film, television, music, sports, etc.

One staple of the event is the outfits celebrities wear which are often curated to match the theme of the exhibit. The suggested theme this year is the Garden of Time.

Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth, Jennifer Lopez, Zendaya, and Anna Wintour are the official co-chairs for this year's festivities.
