The B/R Wrestling Staff Predictions for AEW Dynasty 2024 Match Card

Doc-Chris Mueller

This Sunday, All Elite Wrestling will put on its first-ever Dynasty pay-per-view in St. Louis.

A lot of titles will be on the line this weekend, but we will also see some grudge matches that have nothing to do with gold.

Here's a look at the lineup for the main card:

As always, we have our panel of contributors here to answer questions and offer predictions.

Erik Beaston

Kyle O'Reilly vs. Roderick Strong

How do you see this playing out? Will anyone from Best Friends or Undisputed Kingdom be involved?

It's too early to beat O'Reilly clean, so I expect considerable interference from Matt Taven and Mike Bennett to set up the win for Strong. That booking gives O'Reilly an out and intensifies what should be a higher-profile storyline between former partners.

Julia Hart vs. Willow Nightingale

Do you think it's the right time for Hart to lose the belt?

While she still has plenty to accomplish as champion and has the best presence of any woman on the roster, the answer is yes. She has really come into her own as an on-screen persona and has shined in her title defenses.

With that said, Mercedes Moné is, well, money, and her feud with Nightingale will elevate the TBS Championship in a way that it has not been under her or anyone since Jade Cargill's first few months as champion.

Donald Wood

Kazuchika Okada vs. PAC

Lay out the most satisfying way this match can end in your opinion.

The championship match between Okada and PAC is shaping up to be a certifiable banger, but the finish should be simple. After 20 minutes of tearing the house down, Okada should hit his Rainmaker finisher and win clean in the middle of the ring. If AEW is building the Japanese legend as a top star, he should be winning in convincing fashion.

Will Ospreay vs. Bryan Danielson

Do you think any members of BCC or the Don Callis Family will be involved?

Danielson is one of the best in-ring workers in wrestling history, but his greatest contribution to the business may be his willingness to put over other talent. While interference is possible, his clean loss to Ospreay would give the AEW newcomer the convincing win he needs to build credibility with casual fans.

Graham Matthews

The Young Bucks vs. FTR

In your personal opinion, which team is the better choice to win?

FTR are arguably the best tag team in the world, and it'd be nice to see them back with the belts, but the Bucks feel like the obvious choice, especially with Okada also holding gold at the moment. I don't find their current characters to be the most compelling, but there's no denying their talent and that they can elevate the division by working with a variety of teams.

Toni Storm vs. Thunder Rosa

Do you think we see the title change hands?

With Storm having held the title since November, it's possible the championship changes hands here, but it's far more likely that Storm retains after Deonna Purrazzo interferes and accidentally (or potentially purposely) costs Rosa the win. That can kick off a feud between them while Storm moves on to other challengers. Ideally, that would include Jamie Hayter, but there's been no word on when she's due back.

Kevin Berge

Samoa Joe vs. Swerve Strickland

Offer an argument for why AEW would keep the belt on Joe instead of crowning the red-hot Swerve?

Swerve Strickland's face turn has been rushed due to the fan response to The Mogul. He is still finding his voice as a fan favorite and could use more time to get his bearings. Joe's world title reign still feels fresh and could carry AEW for months to come. It is much easier to build crowd support as a challenger rather than the champion, so Swerve could get more popular by continuing the chase.

House of Black vs. Eddie Kingston, Mark Briscoe and Adam Copeland

Who do you think will get the win for their team and who will eat the pin?

Malakai Black should be the one to pick up the victory for House of Black. The trio is rebuilding its momentum, and that starts with the leader, who is the ideal challenger for Adam Copeland's TNT Championship. Kingston makes the most sense to take the pin as he is the only one without an AEW title and has been on a losing streak.

Chris Mueller

Bullet Club Gold vs. The Acclaimed

This bout will see the ROH six-man and AEW trios titles combined. Which team do you think leaves with both sets of belts?

Bullet Club Gold seems like a better option in just about every way. Jay White and The Gunns had a bit of a slump but have pulled themselves together recently and become much more engaging. The icing on the cake will be if Juice Robinson is there to help out Sunday.

Samoa Joe vs. Swerve Strickland

Should this match have had a special stipulation?

Part of me wants to say yes because of how intense this feud has become, but sometimes it feels like AEW relies on gimmick matches too much. These are two world-class performers who can put on a show-stealing contest without the use of weapons. We will likely see some blood, but this probably won't be as violent as some of Swerve's other AEW bouts.
