Indianapolis Colts receiver Michael Pittman Jr. believes quarterback Anthony Richardson and running back Jonathan Taylor will combine to create a dominant run/pass option in 2024.

"I think we can have the best RPO game in the entire NFL... and don't sleep on his passing," Pittman said about the duo, per ESPN's Stephen Holder.

Both Richardson and Taylor were limited by injuries last season. The two were on the field together for just two plays in 2023.

Pittman is expecting that to change this fall and help the Colts bounce back from their ranking as one of the NFL's lowest-scoring offenses last season.

The Colts ranked in the bottom 10 of the NFL with 18 total touchdowns on their way to missing the playoffs last season.

Two leaders of that offense, Pro Bowl backup quarterback Gardner Minshew and running back Zack Moss, have left for other teams.

Pittman is sticking around in Indianapolis after racking up up a career-high 1,152 receiving yards in 2023. Now the Colts will hope combing him with a legitimate run option and a new quarterback can help the offense score more consistently.

Pittman isn't the only one excited to finally see the Richardson/Taylor in action for an extended period of time together.

Taylor said in January that his work with Richardson was "going to be an awesome sight to see," per Dominic Mirando of WTHR.

"I'm excited to get more work with AR. He's very talented, he's eager to learn, he wants to learn. Guys like that— you gotta watch out," Taylor said.

Taylor specifically complimented Richardson on a play he made against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 4, when he completed a deep pass despite contact from former Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald.

"It was insane to see the accuracy the ball was thrown with, the velocity — it was like, okay, that's special," Taylor said in January, per JJ Stankevitz of Colts.com.

Injuries limited Richardson's passing to 577 yards for three touchdowns, an interception and a 59.5 percent accuracy rate in four games last season.

The Colts will hope Richardson, the No. 4 pick of the 2023 draft, can develop further if given the options of a top running back and wide receiver next season.
