Georgia tight end Brock Bowers is reportedly visiting the New York Jets on Monday.

Peter Schrager of Fox Sports reported Bowers is set to meet with the Jets as they consider how to use the No. 10 pick in this month's NFL draft.

Bowers is considered by far the top tight end of the 2024 class. He was an All-American each of his three seasons at Georgia and won the John Mackey Award as the nation's top tight end each of the last two years.

The B/R Scouting Department ranks Bowers as the No. 2 overall player in the 2024 class, behind only Ohio State receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.

Despite being beloved as a prospect by nearly every scouting service, Bowers' draft stock is in a little bit of flux due to his position. The Jets are likely the apex of his draft stock at No. 10, but he could fall into the 20s if the board breaks unfavorably.

Taking a tight end in the first round has been a mixed bag at best for teams in recent seasons. While T.J. Hockenson blossomed into a star, he did not hit his peak until after the Detroit Lions, the team that drafted him, traded him within the division to the Minnesota Vikings.

Kyle Pitts, Noah Fant, Hayden Hurst, O.J. Howard, Evan Engram and David Njoku have all had varying levels of success, but in essentially every case a better player at a more essential position could have been selected.

The Jets shored up their biggest issue this offseason by adding Tyron Smith and Morgan Moses at the two tackle spots, which could open their draft board for a luxury like Bowers. That said, Smith is 33 years old and often injured. If the top tackle on New York's board is available at No. 10, it might behoove the front office to go with the lineman—particularly with Aaron Rodgers returning from a torn Achilles.

Rodgers also has never been particularly keen on over-using his tight ends as a pass-catcher, so the schematic fit might not be perfect, either.
