Lakers' LeBron James Hypes Iowa's Caitlin Clark After Wild Start vs. South Carolina

LeBron James is showing respect for Iowa star Caitlin Clark.

The 20-time All-Star posted his appreciation for Clark's play on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, saying that those who don't like here game are a "flat out hater."

This comes as Clark was in the midst of a dominant first half that saw her score 21 points and go 4-of-6 from three-point range. Her 18 points in the opening quarter also set the record for most points

This performance helped Iowa jump out to a 10-0 lead and eventually 27-20 lead to enter the second quarter. South Carolina would have an onslaught in the second quarter, however, and would take a 49-46 halftime lead.

Iowa's chances at winning the first national championship in program history will require Clark to remain as dominant as she has all season. She averaged 31.7 points, nine assists and 7.3 rebounds in 38 games for the Hawkeyes prior to the national championship game. She also won the Nancy Lieberman Award for being the nations top point guard.

She led Iowa to the national championship in 2022-23, but the Hawkeyes were defeated by LSU. Her last chance to get it done comes against the Gamecocks, who entered the game undefeated and as the No. 1 overall seed in the tournament.
