Joel Embiid will indeed be repping Skechers.

Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reported on Tuesday that the defending MVP has officially signed a multiyear endorsement deal with the shoe company that will make him the "face of the company's basketball division."

Embiid, who missed two months of action with a left meniscus injury that required surgery, was seen wearing Skechers in his return to the court on Tuesday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder:

Back in October, Charania and Mike Vorkunov of The Athletic reported that Skechers was starting a basketball division and seeking Embiid to be the headliner. The Philadelphia 76ers superstar center had previously been with Under Armour.

New York Knicks All-Star forward Julius Randle and Los Angeles Clippers versatile guard Terance Mann were the first two players to sign endorsement deals with Skechers.

The shoe brand has also moved into the world of soccer, with a roster of stars that includes Bayern Munich's Harry Kane and Arsenal's Oleksandr Zinchenko, among others. Golfers Matt Fitzpatrick and Brooke Henderson also have endorsement deals with the brand.

Landing Embiid is a major move for Skechers as it looks to compete with heavy hitters such as Nike, Jordan Brand, Adidas and Under Armour in the basketball space.

The seven-time All-Star, one-time MVP and two-time scoring champion is one of the biggest stars in the NBA and is expected to represent the United States at the upcoming Paris Olympics, where fans around the world will have the chance to catch a glimpse of his new kicks.
