Commanders' Josh Harris on F-Minus NFLPA Grades: Didn't Even Know You Could Get That

Washington Commanders owner Josh Harris may have been surprised by the low marks his franchise received in the annual NFLPA team report card survey that was released in February.

The Commanders ranked last overall and received grades of F-minus in three different categories, including treatment of families, locker room and training room.

Speaking to JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington about the grades, Harris said he "didn't even know you could get an F-minus" and vowed to make changes to improve things.

Harris also defended himself by noting the survey started "right around the ownership change" when his purchase of the franchise from Daniel Snyder was formally approved in July.

The survey was administered between Aug. 26 and Nov. 16.

It will certainly take time for Harris to shape the entire franchise in the image that he wants after 24 years with Snyder in the ownership chair.

The Commanders' report card noted players "understand that the new club ownership didn't create these current problems, and they are hopeful that the new team ownership is willing to do what it takes to fix them."

This was the first season that the NFLPA included a grade for ownership in the survey. The Commanders received a B in that category, which seems like it would be a dramatic improvement compared to what Snyder would have received.

But the overall feeling from Commanders players is there are "no shortage of issues that need marked improvement after years of neglect." The only categories the franchise didn't rank 21st or worse among the 32 teams were strength coaches (fifth) and ownership (18th).

In addition to the three categories they received an F-minus, the Commanders also got a straight F in training staff and team travel. They were the only team to receive a grade of F or worse in five different categories.

The 2025 NFLPA survey will provide the first real example of how players feel about Harris' ownership. One encouraging sign came last month when the club announced more than $75 million was being dedicated to stadium upgrades for FedEx Field.
