Jared Curtis, the No. 1 quarterback in the Class of 2026 according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, has committed to the Georgia Bulldogs.

"He just told [Georgia head coach Kirby Smart]," his mother, Barbara Curtis, told Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports. "We are so excited."

He's considered the No. 9 player overall in the Class of 2026 and the top player out of the state of Tennessee.

He threw for 2,522 yards, 25 touchdowns and nine interceptions as a junior, while adding 543 yards and 13 scores on the ground, showing off his dual-threat abilities.

Andrew Ivins of 247Sports described Curtis as a "big-armed quarterback prospect with some moxie" in his scouting report, adding that he's "likely to find success in a variety of different offensive systems given his well-rounded skill set."

That made him a target of schools like Alabama, Ohio State, Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee and South Carolina, though he ultimately went with the Bulldogs.

"Just the way all their coaching staff is together and how are they are supportive to each other and I know they're settled and not going anywhere," he said previously when asked what stood out about Georgia. "Just the way they'll develop me as a person and player and the people around me will always help me get to the next level."

The school's pair of national championships between the 2021-22 season, seven straight wins between the College Football Playoff and bowl games since 2019 and 42-2 record over the past three seasons probably didn't hurt.

"I'm home!" Curtis told On3's Hayes Fawcett regarding his commitment. "Go Dawgs."

Georgia continues to crush it on the recruiting trail. The Bulldogs finished as the top team in 247Sports' Composite Rankings of the Class of 2024 and already boasts a pair of 5-star recruits and three 4-stars in the Class of 2025.

So it's no surprise that they are getting an early start on their 2026 group with the high-profile addition of Curtis. Smart has built a powerhouse in Athens.
