Bianca Belair and Biggest Names Missing from WWE WrestleMania 40 Match Card

Kevin Berge

WrestleMania is a special time in WWE. It's The Show of Shows on The Grandest Stage of Them All. Everyone wants to participate.

However, without throwing most of the roster in a Battle Royal, it's difficult to find a place for everyone on the two-night premium live event card.

No matter how big the name, missing WrestleMania stings. Over the years, wrestlers in their prime such as Bray Wyatt, Bobby Lashley and LA Knight have not had a match for 'Mania.

This will also happen for several key stars in 2024. WrestleMania 40 could be the "biggest WrestleMania of all time," but it still won't have room for everyone.

The following are the top stars currently missing from the card on April 6-7 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, including speculation on where they might fit in.

This list will not include any talent currently out with injury.

Liv Morgan

Few current wrestlers have a more dedicated fanbase than Liv Morgan. The former SmackDown women's champion is a workhorse who has built herself up through hard work to become a fan favorite.

Injuries have slowed her rise to the top of the women's division, but she has also suffered from the limited number of opportunities available in WWE.

While the company continues to improve its diversity of representation on each card, the roster is still more male-driven.

It's tough to find a PLE spot without a title on the line for any women's wrestler. Grudge matches in the women's division are not as highly represented as for the men.

Morgan's major beef is with Rhea Ripley, who is set to face Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 40 instead.

Morgan's fans were not happy with that decision.

However, Morgan has benefited from the spotlight much like Nia Jax in working with Ripley and Lynch on the Road to WrestleMania.

Even if she doesn't have a formal contest planned, she will hopefully play a role in that title bout.

Shinsuke Nakamura

Shinsuke Nakamura has had a bumpy road with WWE. He has challenged for a world championship multiple times but never won. He is a former intercontinental champion but rarely a storyline priority.

It would not be surprising if The Artist missed WrestleMania as he has no current rivalry, but it would be a shame.

The presentation of Nakamura over the past years has dramatically improved. Allowing him to cut promos in Japanese has showcased his boundless charisma.

He has looked a dangerous threat to the most of the roster, though his recent feuds with Seth Rollins, Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn have all ended with the babyface on top.

His former rivals will all play major roles at WrestleMania, but it seems likely Nakamura will sit at home that weekend.

The Creed Brothers

Even with a six-team ladder match at WrestleMania, not everyone can make The Show of Shows. But it is a shock that The Creed Brothers have no role.

Julius and Brutus Creed are rare, exciting stars who have blown everyone away in their short time with the company. Every time they perform, they stand out.

They will likely never miss 'Mania again if they cannot find a spot this year. Brutus Creed is 27 years old, and Julius Creed is 29; both are still learning but have massive upside.

Of the two, Julius stands out as someone who could be a great main event performer in a few years. Before them, The Creed Brothers should take over the tag division.

However, it looks like this year's WrestleMania will not be the breakout stage for them.

Bianca Belair

No active wrestler in WWE is more defined by WrestleMania than Bianca Belair. She is undefeated over three years at The Show of Shows.

More importantly, she has consistently stepped up at 'Mania. Her matches with Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch were two of the greatest women's bouts in WWE history. Last year's clash with Asuka was also strong, if not an all-time great.

Somehow, The EST of WWE is not announced for WrestleMania yet, although that's likely to change soon.

She backed up Naomi on Friday's SmackDown against Damage CTRL, and it seems likely that they will work together to bring down the dominant heel stable.

Naomi

Speaking of Naomi, the former TNA Knockouts champion established herself as a top woman in the business before re-signing with WWE, and she should not miss WrestleMania.

She has stepped up to help former friend Bayley, at least setting up a scenario in which she will back her up against Iyo Sky at 'Mania.

However, The Glow should be more than backup. In fact, to make Bayley vs. Sky better, the rest of Damage CTRL should be wrestling separately to keep the WWE Women's Championship match clean.

Naomi is perfectly suited to challenge The Kabuki Warriors for the tag titles she never lost, although Sasha Banks is not available to back her up anymore.

The likeliest story would be for The Glow and Bianca Belair to challenge for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship.

There is also a possibility that Jade Cargill could get involved, setting up a six-woman match for WrestleMania 40, similar to the Damage CTRL match at WrestleMania 39.

The Kabuki Warriors

Asuka is one of the special Superstars who should never miss WrestleMania. But despite holding the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship, she has been mostly focused on protecting Iyo Sky at WrestleMania.

The Empress of Tomorrow did injure her knee on the March 15 edition of SmackDown, but she was moving smoothly on the following week's show.

Even if Asuka could not compete, Kairi Sane needs to be in action as a women's tag team champion. She could link up with Damage CTRL teammate Dakota Kai.

Naomi and Bianca Belair have stepped up to the faction, and Jade Cargill has also stood up against the heel group.

No matter what, this match in some form is necessary given the amount of talent waiting for their WrestleMania 40 spot.

Rey Mysterio

Rey Mysterio is a legend, and he is still able to compete weekly on WWE television. He has brought back Latino World Order as the clear group leader, establishing the strongest fan-favorite stable in WWE.

It is a surprise that he is not already announced for WrestleMania XL. A singles match against Santos Escobar was likely until WWE decided to have the match at SmackDown instead.

It's likely that some version of LWO vs. Legado Del Fantasma will have a spotlight at The Show of Shows, but it's unclear what form it will take.

WWE cannot afford to lose track of this story for 'Mania. Beyond making sure Mysterio has another spotlight, Escobar has also earned that opportunity with his recent heel work.

Dominik Mysterio

The Judgment Day's top achievement has been making Rhea Ripley the No. 1 woman in the business. However, Dominik Mysterio's growth is a close second.

Dirty Dom finally escaped the shadow of his father, Rey Mysterio, and has found his way as a memorable midcard heel.

While he could always play a key role in protecting Ripley, Finn Bálor and Damian Priest in their title defenses, Dom has earned his own match at The Show of Shows.

However, that would have to come separately from The Judgment Day. On Friday's SmackDown, he intentionally got involved in his father's business again.

If there is a plan for a faction warfare battle at WrestleMania, this could be setting him up to work with Legado World Order.

Add in Andrade, who has set up a rivalry with Dom, and WWE could have more strong talent for this year's 'Mania.

The Pride

Bobby Lashley walked into WrestleMania 37 as WWE champion. The next year, he ended the undefeated streak of Omos. The year after that, he only appeared to show his Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal trophy.

The All Mighty is too big a star to miss the 'Mania card again. The same is true of his stablemates, The Street Profits, who might still make the card by qualifying for the tag team ladder match.

Lashley, the Profits and B-Fab have created The Pride, a new super-group that needs a big moment to shine. They are feuding with The Final Testament: Karrion Kross, The Authors of Pain and Scarlett.

This rivalry has not gotten the hype necessary to feel right for 'Mania, but WWE should still find a spot for it to let the talent shine.

Tiffany Stratton

No one gained more momentum than Tiffany Stratton at Elimination Chamber in February.

The crowd in Perth, Australia was so behind The Center of the Universe that she was cheered over top names like Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair.

However, Stratton has been an afterthought since her breakout performance. She has teased potential matches with Naomi and Bianca Belair, but both feuds have been put on the back-burner for 'Mania season.

The 24-year-old is new to the main roster from NXT, but WWE has a chance to solidify her star power by putting her on the 'Mania card.

With so much of SmackDown's women's division focused on the Damage CTRL storyline though, The Center of the Universe may be forgotten until after The Show of Shows.
