The South Carolina Gamecocks will try to remain perfect through the NCAA women's basketball tournament.
Dawn Staley's team earned the No. 1 overall seed through a 32-0 record and it is the clear favorite to win the program's second title in three seasons.
South Carolina is expected to show up in Cleveland for the Final Four, but who else joins them, especially from the Albany 2 region, is more of a mystery.
The reigning champion LSU Tigers are the No. 3 seed in a region with Caitlin Clark's Iowa Hawkeyes and the UCLA Bruins.
The Sweet 16 and Elite Eight matchups in that region, if chalk holds, will be the most competitive matchups before the Final Four.

South Carolina Looking to Finish Off Undefeated Season
South Carolina is the team to beat in the women's bracket once again this season.
The Gamecocks are the only team with multiple national titles since 2017 and they reached the Final Four in each of the last three seasons.
Only a handful of teams have come within 10 points of Kamilla Cardoso and Co. this season. That short list includes the LSU Tigers and Tennessee Volunteers in SEC play.
South Carolina should cruise through the first weekend, even with Cardoso suspended for the opener against either the Sacred Heart Pioneers or Presbyterian Blue Hose.
The Gamecocks' biggest test before the Final Four in Cleveland should come from the second-seeded Notre Dame Fighting Irish, who are led by star freshman Hannah Hidalgo.
Hidalgo averages 23.3 points per game and is one of the most dynamic individuals in women's college basketball. South Carolina needs to contain her in order to win the Albany 1 region.
The biggest challenge after that will come in the championship game since LSU, Iowa and USC all reside on the other half of the bracket.
South Carolina should be favored in all of those games, but it will face a challenge from whomever emerges from the gauntlet on the right side of the bracket.
LSU, Iowa, UCLA Headline Toughest Region
The Albany 2 region features three of the best teams in the sport.
Caitlin Clark and Iowa landed the top seed and it only has to play one of LSU or UCLA to get to Cleveland.
A potential national championship rematch between Iowa and LSU could happen if the Tigers get past UCLA in the Sweet 16.
UCLA went 7-5 against Top 25 teams this season, while LSU had 1-3 mark against Top 25 squads, with two of those defeats coming against South Carolina.
The Bruins played the tougher schedule in the Pac-12, but LSU is the reigning champion and can always compete with Hailey Van Lith and Angel Reese on the floor.
Iowa only suffered four losses all season. The Hawkeyes conceded over 80 points in their three Big Ten defeats. Iowa's scored at least 80 points in each of its last 14 wins dating back to January 5.
The potential LSU-UCLA matchup and the contest between Iowa and the winner of that game should deliver Final Four quality games and make the Albany 2 region winner the most battle-tested Final Four participant.
