300K Condoms to Be Provided to Athletes at Olympic Village at 2024 Paris Games

Organizers for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris are planning to provide 300,000 condoms for the athletes taking part, according to Sky News' Rob Harris.

Harris said that averages out to around two per day for every athlete.

For those taking part, the Olympic experience this summer will be a marked contrast from how the Summer Games operated in Tokyo in 2021. Significant interpersonal restrictions remained in place amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The accommodations may not be all that different, though. The same company that provided the cardboard beds in Tokyo supplied the bedding in Paris as well.

Olympic village director Laurent Michaud outlined to Harris the priorities behind building a communal atmosphere within the complex.

"It is very important that the conviviality here is something big," he said. "Working with the athletes commission, we wanted to create some places where the athletes would feel very enthusiastic and comfortable."

That will be welcome news to the athletes making the trip to the French capital.
