Cover Athlete Reveal

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. won the Home Run Derby in 2023 and once again led his Toronto Blue Jays to the postseason. For his efforts, and in consideration of his popularity across baseball, he was named the cover athlete for MLB The Show 24.

Guerrero had the worst of his last three seasons in 2023, with his fewest home runs (26) and RBI (94). Still, he mustered a slash line of .264/.345/.444 and was a leader for the AL East's third-place Blue Jays.

That did not stop some from criticizing the choice.

Others looked not to the last season, but what Guerrero has accomplished to this point in his career at such a young age.

Regardless of one's opinion on the decision to put Guerrero on the cover, he is one of the most visible and recognizable stars in the game and is coming off of a win in one of the most fan-friendly events on the baseball calendar.
