Former UFC stars Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal will face each other once again, but this time it will go down in a boxing ring.

Per MMA journalist Ariel Helwani, a boxing match between Diaz and Masvidal "is a done deal" and will take place on June 1 at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, in a 10-round 175-pound light heavyweight bout.

Diaz and Masvidal met in the Octagon in November 2019 in the main event of UFC 244. With the inaugural and symbolic UFC BMF title on the line, Masvidal earned a TKO victory due to a doctor's stoppage after the third round because of a cut suffered by Diaz.

Since departing the UFC, both Masvidal and Diaz have remained in combat sports.

Diaz opted not to re-sign with the UFC when his contract expired in 2022. He competed in his first boxing match when he faced YouTuber Jake Paul in August, but he lost by unanimous decision in a fight that wasn't really competitive.

Masvidal, who retired after a loss in April 2023, put on his promoter cap and launched a bare-knuckle MMA promotion, Gamebred Fighting Championship, in 2021. The promotion most recently crowned its first heavyweight champion when former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos defeated former UFC veteran Alan Belcher earlier this month.

It took less than a year for Masvidal to end his retirement, as he plans to return to MMA in addition to competing in boxing.

If the first meeting between Diaz and Masvidal is any indication, their rematch should be an exciting matchup that will please the fans who tune in on June 1.
