Sting and Darby Allin. AEW

The B/R Wrestling Staff Predictions for AEW Revolution 2024 Match Card

Doc-Chris Mueller

The first AEW pay-per-view of 2024 takes place this Sunday with Revolution in Greensboro, North Carolina.

This will mark Sting's final match as a pro wrestler, but the card is also stacked with plenty of other action. Here is the lineup for Revolution as of Friday morning:

As always, we have our panel of contributors here to answer questions and offer predictions.

Donald Wood

Sting and Darby Allin vs. Young Bucks

Do you think Sting should end his career with a win or loss?

The whole purpose of teaming Allin with a legend like Sting was to get him over to the casual audience. Letting Sting finish his career with one last marquee victory would not only give the pay-per-view a strong finish but also give Allin an unforgettable moment that can catapult him forward. Plus, letting Sting and Allin retain the AEW Tag Team Championships would provide the younger performer with a built-in storyline trying to find a new partner.

Christian Cage vs. Daniel Garcia

Is it time for AEW to give Garcia a title and a big push?

Daniel Garcia is one of the best parts of week-to-week content on AEW and absolutely deserves a title and a big push, but he shouldn't beat Christian on Sunday. The storyline is based around Adam Copeland and the champion, so Christian should retain via heel tactics only for Copeland to make the save for Garcia. The Buffalo native will soon win a title, but it shouldn't be Sunday at Revolution.

Erik Beaston

Orange Cassidy vs. Roddy Strong

OC has held the title for most of its history. Offer a reason Roddy should win this weekend.

The Undisputed Kingdom has cooled off as quickly as it heated up. The group badly needs a boost and that starts with Strong fulfilling the first part of Adam Cole's promise for the group's dominance of AEW.

All-Star Scramble Match

Which AEW star would you like to see included and win a title shot?

Ricky Starks. The most undervalued young star in the company continues to see his stock rise, then fall, then rise again as his story is handled seemingly on a whim. Entering a match like this, outlasting the likes of Chris Jericho, Hook, Powerhouse Hobbs and Brian Cage, and earning a future title shot could help AEW finally realize his fullest potential. Plus, an arrogant Starks vs. a no-nonsense Joe could be boatloads of fun.

Graham Matthews

Toni Storm vs. Deonna Purrazzo

AEW has a lot of women who have been there a long time with no titles. Do you think AEW would give Deonna a title run right away?

Storm is still one of AEW's hottest acts but has held the title long enough to where Purrazzo taking it from her at Revolution would be perfectly acceptable. The only issue is that with Mercedes Mone's arrival imminent, AEW may want to do that as a championship feud for the spring or summer, likely with Mariah May costing Storm the title. Perhaps Purrazzo can have a run with the AEW TBS Championship by the end of the year.

FTR vs. BCC

Who would you book to win this if you were Tony Khan?

The match is guaranteed to be great regardless, so the outcome is almost irrelevant. It's more a matter of who Khan intends to push toward the tag titles next and if Moxley and Castagnoli will be sticking together as as a team beyond Revolution. Being the actual team of the two, FTR should arguably go over, but BCC winning would hardly do damage to FTR's credibility.

Kevin Berge

Eddie Kingston vs. Bryan Danielson

Lay out the best possible scenario for this bout. Who wins and how do they do it?

Eddie Kingston needs to win this as clean as possible. Each time these two men have fought, The King of the Bums has learned and improved. This is the time for him to show his mental toughness and outshine The American Dragon with a focused finishing sequence and clean pinfall.

Samoa Joe vs. Swerve Strickland vs. Adam Page

How do you see this match ending? Who wins and who gets pinned or submitted?

It is too soon for Joe to lose the AEW world championship. He needs to take out Hangman with the Coquina Clutch after The Cowboy has knocked Swerve outside. This protects The Mogul for a future singles rematch against The Samoan Submission Machine.

Chris Mueller

Samoa Joe vs. Swerve Strickland vs. Adam Page

How do you see this match playing out?

The feud between Swerve and Hangman almost feels like the main focus here instead of the title, which is part of why Joe will win. Page and Strickland will absolutely obliterate each other, leaving themselves too injured to prevent Joe from easily beating both of them when he decides to strike. This will be fun, but a title change seems unlikely.

Will Ospreay vs. Konosuke Takeshita

Do you think Ospreay will be part of the Don Callis Family after this match?

I'm not even sure he's part of the family now. He was acting like a babyface on Dynamite and didn't seem too excited to see Callis. We know he is cool with Hobbs from their quick interactions, but his tense standoff with Takeshita and look of disinterest regarding Callis signal that his alliance with the group was a one-time thing and he will not be a full-fledged member of the family.
