NFL Rumors: Josh Harris Has Taken Part In Commanders' QB Interviews at 2024 Combine

As the Washington Commanders prepare for one of the most important drafts in recent franchise history, managing partner Josh Harris is taking an active role in the proceedings.

Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, Harris has taken part in each of Washington's six interviews the club has conducted with top quarterback prospects at the NFL scouting combine this week in Indianapolis.

The Commanders earned the No. 2 pick in the 2024 draft. This is the first time they will pick that high since 2020 when Chase Young was selected second overall. It's almost certain the Commanders will go with a quarterback this time around.

B/R's NFL scouting department had the Commanders trading up to No. 1 overall to select Caleb Williams in its most recent mock draft.

Schefter has said Washington is "not inclined" to give up what the Chicago Bears would require to move off the No. 1 pick.

Assuming the Commanders stay in their current spot, they will have their choice of at least two quarterbacks from the group of Caleb Williams, Drake Maye and Jayden Daniels.

ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. had Daniels going to Washington in his second mock released on Wednesday.

Harris is entering his first full offseason as the Commanders' primary owner. Dan Snyder agreed to sell the franchise in May 2023, but the deal wasn't approved by owners for another two months.

It wasn't the best debut season for Harris in charge of the Commanders, but that can be excused because he didn't put together the roster they played with last season. They finished 4-13, tying the franchise record for most losses in a season.

The franchise has overhauled its front office and coaching staff over the past seven months. Adam Peters has been hired as general manager and Dan Quinn is taking over as head coach.

While Peters and Quinn will likely have significant say in who the pick at No. 2 ends up being, Harris' presence in the interview room with the prospects at least suggests he will have input in the decision that's going to shape the direction of the franchise for several years.
